1 - Dyslexia: Importance of Diagnosis and Treatment

Dyslexia is a specific neurologically based type of reading disability in which children have trouble automatically assigning the right sound to the letter symbol, blending sounds and rapidly retrieving previously learned words.

The State Board of Education shall, as part of the professional development requirement established by the State board of public school teaching staff members, require certain teaching staff members to annually complete at least 2 hours of professional development instruction on the screening intervention, accommodation, and use of technology for students with reading disabilities, including Dyslexia.

After passing the online assessment at the conclusion of this course, you will receive a certificate for 2 hours of professional development.

You need to be an authorized district or school administrator and logged in to the site to purchase courses in OTIS.
